Miscellaneous manuscripts relating to Sudbury, Vermont, 1798-1878.

This collection includes accounts, receipts, deeds, school district warnings, and other material relating to Charles C. Stewart (1776-1814) and Samuel Sanders (1786-1869), both of Sudbury, Vermont. The papers also include material relating to the settlement of Charles C. Stewart's estate. Also included in the collection is a letter dated May 13, 1810, addressed to Ezekial Middleton in Leeds, Québec and signed by Comfort and Betsey Carpenter, giving news of the death of Comfort's father, Jabez, and his brother Gideon in Crown Point, New York. As well there is a letter from Rev. Israel Hammond of Peekskill, New York to Hiram Warner of Sudbury, Vermont, dated March 2, 1831, giveing a reference to a Presbyterian preacher, Mr. Bucknole
